January 4 - beckaandzac

Today's January Meme is for [livejournal.com profile] beckaandzac who asked Books that meant a lot to you as a kid

Well, Harry Potter is the obvious choice and I guess it depends on what you'd consider a kid. Elementary, I loved Ella Enchanted and got really into fairy tales in that sense [and some I can't remember]. Middle school was Harry Potter which because my fandom, my love of books developed even more, and I met all the awesome people. High School I ventured out a bit, reading everything I could get my hands on. And in college I fell in love with Sarah Dessen and Sophie Kinsella as authors (Can You Keep A Secret became one of my to go feel good books).

There's been a multitude of books that meant a lot to me and because of my crap memory I can't remember them all. I do remember summer reading books and being annoyed yet astounded by them (The Chosen by Chaim Potok and Farewell to Arms by Hemingway and The Razor's Edge)

A fave is always To Kill A Mockinbird of course, giving me a glimpse of raw stories. Another one I love but can never re-read is Kite Runner. Beautiful but achingly so.

....hope that answered that haha
