Title: Kiss of Love

Summary: Before going into battle, a conversation between the boys…

A/N: Formegyal’s birthday. She wanted fic with the prompt of silence. Not as fluffy as I had hoped, unfortunately! Hope you still enjoy though!
“Shhh…” Harry silences Draco with a finger to his lips and a whisper of, “Shhhh…”
“Why? Who are we hiding from?” Draco asks Harry.
“Voldemort. Death Eaters. Everyone?”
“Why? It’s not like they are in the castle…yet.” Draco says.
“But you never know. I just want to keep you safe for now. So please just stay here, stay silent if possible, and I’ll come back.”
Draco refused to listen to that. He didn’t think Harry should go out by himself. They argued back and forth on the merits of Draco staying or coming out with him and wasted precious time in their bickering. But Draco was adamant about coming with Harry.
”I just want you to be safe. I want to you be ok and then we can start over. A new life.” Harry appeals.
“You can’t keep me safe forever.”
“But I can try. Please Draco, I’m begging you!” Harry pleads.
“Harry, I’ll be more help out there than in here. I’m begging you!”
Harry tries to resist but knows it’s futile. Once Draco has his mind set to something, there’s no changing it, and Merlin knows he’s tried.
Draco starts to get more and more upset, “You can’t stop me!”
Harry agreed, “No, I can’t. But I sure can try.”
“Well, I’m coming. And you can deal with it. I know you need the help.”
Harry knew deep down that Draco was right, however much he hated that. “Just…stay safe please. Promise me you’ll be ok.”
Draco looked at him and promised and Harry reached up and grabbed the back of Draco’s head, pulling him into a kiss. He put all his emotions into that one kiss, the fear, the apprehension, the nervousness, all of it. Hopefully after the battle, he’d give Draco another kiss, this one of relief, joy, and of course love.
