frances_veritas. Thanks babe. Love you! *smooch*
A/N: I was thinking about the song “Forever,” originally by the Beach Boys but sung by Jesse and the Rippers (and just Jesse) in Full House, and I thought it would make the perfect fic. I was going to put the idea out there for someone else to write, but I didn’t know how long that would take, and this was begging to be written, so I wrote it. My second ever J2 fic, so don’t be TOO harsh!
Jensen had something big planned, Jared knew that. But Jensen just wouldn’t tell him what the big surprise was, and to be honest, Jared was freaking out a little. It was their wedding after all.
A year after the end of Supernatural and three years after they had officially been together, they had decided to take the plunge and make their relationship legal. Though they both knew they had basically been married since they met; the wedding was only a formality.
Jared was standing at the front of the church, waiting for his future husband to show up. Steve and Chris were standing across from him, smirking at him and Jared knew both of them knew what Jensen was planning. Chad stood by Jared but kept making eyes at Kenzie and didn't even notice how nervous Jared was getting. Some best man, Jared thought, jokingly.
Jared knew he’d love it, but he couldn’t help but feel a little antsy. Jensen hadn’t showed up yet, and the ceremony was supposed to start in two minutes. Jared trusted Jensen with his life, but he still kept his eyes glued to the back door, hoping Jensen would come through any minute. He didn’t have to wait long, luckily.
Jensen walked through the door, bringing in the choir behind him, threw a quick wave to Chris and Steve and winked at Jared, mouthing Sorry.
He led the choir to the front of the church but not down the aisle, from the side, and he sat down at the piano that Jared just noticed for the first time. Everyone quieted down when they realized the other groom was here.
Jensen started playing the music, the choir humming along behind him, and the notes sounded hauntingly familiar to Jared. Jensen’s eyes were locked with Jared’s and he began to sing in a loud, clear voice.
If every word I said
Could make you laugh
I'd talk forever
Jared had a flash of memory from Full House, though he wouldn’t admit that to anyone. He walked over to where Jensen was singing and stood by the piano gazing down at him.
If the song I sing to you
Could fill your heart with joy
I'd sing forever
Jared’s eyes started to water, and he wouldn’t admit that to anyone either. But he noticed Jensen’s own were suspiciously moist so he didn’t feel as much of a sap. Memories flipped through Jared’s mind: meeting Jensen for the first time, realizing his feelings for his costar went deeper than just friendship, their first real date, their first kiss, the first time they said I love you to each other, picnics, other dates, and when Jensen slipped his ring onto Jared’s finger and promised him forever.
Jared sat down on the bench next to Jensen and sang along for a few seconds, just to let Jensen know he loved it, and him, and they would be forever.
Let the love I have for you
Live in your heart
And beat forever
Like it? Hate it? Comments make me REALLY happy :D
