Okay so yesterday was a crap day. I was going to list it all out and complain and whine, but honestly? I just want to forget about it. It started early and ended late and I'm just glad it's over. Some of it bled into today and I'm sure tomorrow is going to be JUST as bad. BUT, bright side is I'm off M-W (even if I do have to completely rehaul my curriculum as well as pack up my room at my brother's place). STILL. BRIGHT SIDE.

What I ask from you, oh lovely flist, is spam this post with awesome shiny things? Gifs, fics, schmoop, pretty pictures, a quote, a joke, ANYTHING. I want to come home with something to look forward to please?

After a massive outcry from more than 40,000 Change.org members -- which led to news coverage in the Huffington Post, Village Voice, and even London’s Daily Mail -- New York Times public editor Arthur S. Brisbane has issued a strong rebuke of the victim-blaming in a recent article by reporter James McKinley about the gang-rape of an 11-year-old girl and her community's response.

Brisbane wrote said that the outrage was "understandable" and that the piece conveyed "an impression of concern for the perpetrators and an impression of a provocative victim" that "led many readers to interpret the subtext of the story to be: she had it coming."

The apology isn’t perfect -- it decries the lack of "balance," as if the paper should be providing equal voice to the concerns of the victims and her alleged attackers. And unfortunately, while the story ran in section "A" of the Times, Brisbane’s commentary showed up only online, not in his weekly column.

But because the Times is so high-profile, this condemnation still sends an important message to reporters all around the U.S. that readers will hold them accountable for insinuating that victims are somehow responsible for playing a role in their own sexual assaults. And you made this happen.

# My aunt passed away early this morning. She'd been sick for a while (a cancer starting in her ear I believe) and was non-responsive the past few days. It's tough, but it was expected because the doctors said they couldn't do anything. Doesn't make it any easier. This is the third of my mom's siblings in 3-4 years. I'm not liking this statistic. I LOVE her side of the family and it seems to be dwindling away :( I'm just glad Mom saw her when she went to visit this year. I saw her last year, but we didn't really get a chance to talk since my Uncle had passed away at the time and we were only there for a bit. But yea, it's tough right now and so that love meme above? Cheered me up immensely. I feel like it came at a perfect time for many. So thanks Flesh and everyone else. You made my cry happy tears, thank you ♥♥♥

Today has been a not so awesome day *pouts pathetically*

Cons:
- Slept at 1:30 last night and woke up at 5:00 AM this morning.
- Had to drive an hour and a half at 5:45 AM
- As soon as I got here, unpacked my trunk and drove to the bus stop (7:30)
- Got on the bus to go to work for a full nine hour day
- I get to work and can't log into my account on the computer
- I go upstairs to the next floor for technology help and trip, banging my knee hard, and cutting up my thumb
- They say they'll let me know when my account will be fixed (8:15)
- I don't realize I'm bleeding till I see red all over my sandal, so I wash my shoe and put a band aid on, band aid rips, have to repeat
- My knee feels sore, my feet hurt, and I still can't log in (8:45)
- My boss gives me this HUGE stack of work to do
- It's 11:30 and still no access. I finally call them and they're like 'it works'. I'm a bit upset at them at this point.
- 12:00 I have to go get lunch for the boss (I walk there in the hot sun and it's busy as hell, my feet still hurt)
- I finally eat my first morsel of food all day when I get something to eat along with boss' lunch
- I'm told I need to run an errand and head to the library with aching feet
- I get to the library and something goes wrong where I can't even get what I'm supposed to, so I walk back to work
- I finally finish my stack and start to just relax when I bang the bruised knee against the desk

Then I was finally done and got to go HOOOOME (after walking all the way to the bus stop again and waiting for the bus)

I felt bad for Rona, because I kept whining at her through texts haha

Pros:
+ I saw 'Crush' today, and he looked as awesome as always haha. He's such a technological nerd, I love it. Think Chuck+Hardison. He's less adorable and funny and would be my best friend and someone I could fall for if I saw him outside of work
+ It's my girl crush's birthday.

...that's kind of it. So Thursday felt like a craptastic Monday. OH and I just realized I have to code the newsletter when all I wanna do is curl up in my bed and sleep for a year. But I have work again tomorrow. *sighs*

I've been failing at commenting really these past few days. I blame the fact that I can barely concentrate because I am sick. (gross sick too! Ugh I think taking meds actually made me SICKER. Please direct me towards tons of schmooooooooop)

I'll get back to really commenting and stuff soon though. ( me being sorta emo. )

So it really HASN'T been a good day.
1. Phone got stolen. Using sis-in-laws old one but it's made of EPIC CRAP and takes forever to text and keys stick and my awesome blossom ringtones are GONE :( :(
2. Had my test on Access. IDK what to think, just that it's OVER
3. Had a meeting tonight and got home a little while ago. Been on campus ALL DAY. *sighs*
4. I'm not even gonna comment about the wank.
5. The lack of more Jensen jealousy. C'mon fandom! (I maaaay be writing some as a result. MAYBE.)
6. Other random crap not worth mentioning. The fact that it's a freaking MONDAY sums it up *sighs*
