& feel supremely bad about my fail as a friend here on LJ. Life has gotten away from me. But I vow to be better this week!

& have not watched last week's episode of SPN or any other show really. I have no clue what I'm doing with my time but THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH OF IT.

& wondering, does anyone have any icons with the SPN boys wearing glasses from the episode before last? WANT!! *grabby hands*

& am ridiculously behind on dailyjsquared. I really need to shape up with that poor comm. Also things I'm ridiculously behind on include the SPN cons. *SIGH*

+ I want to be Amy Farrah Fowler's bestie. She is one of my favorite things to happen to Big Bang Theory. Seriously. She makes me laugh so damn hard. I absolutely adore her and yay writers for including her. She's made of all sorts of awesome, no joke.

+ Substituting highlights: I was at a two day assignment last week and it was Teacher Appreciation Week. The first day went fine. The second day, this girl comes to my class and gives me a box of chocolates. I assume it's for her regular teacher who she won't see until the following week and I tell her I'll keep it for her. She shakes her head and says it's for me. THEN the kids wanted me to eat lunch with them (I found out all the hot gossip haha). And they call went to their other teachers and told them I was their favorite sub. Friday was a good day. It's days like those, I'm thankful to be around kids. (They were fifth graders btw)

+ Time for The Voice! An awesome show, seriously. Blake, Adam, Cee Lo, and Christina are so much fun! (Esp. Blake and Adam as matalinolukaret, dugindeep, and kelleigh can testify haha)

After a massive outcry from more than 40,000 Change.org members -- which led to news coverage in the Huffington Post, Village Voice, and even London’s Daily Mail -- New York Times public editor Arthur S. Brisbane has issued a strong rebuke of the victim-blaming in a recent article by reporter James McKinley about the gang-rape of an 11-year-old girl and her community's response.

Brisbane wrote said that the outrage was "understandable" and that the piece conveyed "an impression of concern for the perpetrators and an impression of a provocative victim" that "led many readers to interpret the subtext of the story to be: she had it coming."

The apology isn’t perfect -- it decries the lack of "balance," as if the paper should be providing equal voice to the concerns of the victims and her alleged attackers. And unfortunately, while the story ran in section "A" of the Times, Brisbane’s commentary showed up only online, not in his weekly column.

But because the Times is so high-profile, this condemnation still sends an important message to reporters all around the U.S. that readers will hold them accountable for insinuating that victims are somehow responsible for playing a role in their own sexual assaults. And you made this happen.

This year flew by and lots of momentous things happened. It hasn't been the best year, but it hasn't been too bad either. I'm disappointed I didn't finish either of my bingo's OR my spn_30snapshots tables, but I will. Hopefully. Even if they're not on time, the will get done somehow! haha

One thing I remain thankful for is you all and the impression you've made on me. This year would have sucked without all of you by my side through it all. So thank you ♥
