benitle because she wanted schmoop and Jared taking care of Jensen.
It was a tough scene, one of the toughest that Jensen’s ever done. Dean has definitely been one hell of a role to play, pun intended.
Jensen’s always had a difficult time shaking off Dean and today’s been no different. Especially today. For God’s sake, Dean is dying and going to hell, anybody would have a hard time shaking that off and Jensen really can’t help the tears falling down his face.
Doing the scenes over and over again isn’t helping much either, even if Kim is directing. Eric’s written a very emotional script, and those are the worst to do. They’re difficult because they require more acting and drain Jensen.
Jared isn’t much better off, but doing a bit better than Jensen. He keeps looking at Jensen with a worried look because he knows today has been a rough day. This episode hasn’t been easy to do and since it is ending in a cliffhanger, it’s worse because they have no idea what’s going to happen in Season 4.
It’s kind of like Mystery Spot all over again, but because it is for real this time, it’s a little harder to look at Jensen and think of just Dean and not his lover dead in his arms. The tears come naturally as he doesn’t have to imagine anything, Jensen is portraying the dead body so well.
Jared knows Jensen is having a harder time because Jared can shake off Sam much quicker than Jensen can get out of Dean’s head. Jared just wants to hold Jensen but that wouldn’t go over too well with Kim, even if he does know about them.
They do the last scene one more time and as soon as Kim calls cut, Jared pulls Jensen up, wiping away the tears that have started to fall again from Jensen’s eyes. Jared asks if they are done for the day and as soon as he gets the go ahead he half-carries, half-pulls Jensen over to his trailer. He has to get Jensen out of Dean’s head, and soon. Or it won’t be pretty for either of them.
It’s quite a walk to the trailer and just dragging an out-of-it Jensen who is basically dead weight isn’t easy. They are over halfway there, just a little farther, and Jared looks around to make sure nobody is paying attention to them. He doesn’t see anybody, and even though he knows Jensen would probably kill him, he chances just carrying Jensen the rest of the way.
He starts to get a little more concerned when instead of Jensen getting upset at being carried like a girl, he just curls in tighter in Jared’s arms and tucks his head against Jared’s chest, soaking Sam’s shirt a little with the tears still falling. Jared walks as fast as he can to his trailer whispering, “I got you babe. You’re safe, I’m here,” to Jensen.
They get to his trailer and Jared kicks the door open and walks to his bed, depositing Jensen. He turns around to head towards the kitchen in order to get Jensen some water when a hand tugs at his wrist. He circles around again and Jensen pulls Jared down behind him, wrapping Jared’s arm around his waist.
Jensen croaks out a, “lay with me please,” and Jared is unable to resist.
He does roll Jensen over to face him and wipes the remaining tears away from Jensen’s puffy cheeks. Jensen just looks at him with red-rimmed eyes and Jared’s heart goes out to him. He hugs Jensen closer, running his fingers through Dean’s gelled style.
He soothes Jensen, whispering in a quiet voice, “Everything’s going to be ok, Jen, I promise. You’re fine; I won’t let anything happen to you.”
He knows it’s useless to get Jensen to talk about Dean and to convince Jensen it will be ok, so he just continues to whisper nonsense and keep running his fingers through his hair. He pulls back a little to drop kisses over Jensen’s face and tastes salt from the earlier tears. They’ve stopped now, and for that Jared is grateful.
Jensen pulls a hand out from between them and clutches at Jared’s hair, bringing his mouth towards Jensen’s. Jensen kisses him desperately, and Jared knows he’s trying to ground himself so Jared just lets his mouth be devoured, not that he would mind anyway.
They both pull back as oxygen becomes necessary and Jared closes the distance between them again to capture Jensen’s lips in another kiss, this one much softer. He pulls Jensen on top of him and continues to kiss him. He kisses him softly, deeply, and puts all the emotion he has into the kisses. He wants to make sure Jensen knows that Jared’s here, that Jensen is fine. And in the back of his head, Jared knows the kisses are for him as well, to make sure that Jensen is ok, that Dean is just a character and this is between him and Jensen. Jensen is right here and real.
Jensen lifts up a little and places a chaste kiss on Jared’s lips. He mouths, “I love you,” and get off of Jared to cuddle into Jared’s side, even if he probably would deny that the next day. Jared feels a lot better because he knows Jensen is going to be ok. Jared spoons him and places a kiss on Jensen’s cloth covered shoulder and at his collarbone which is peeking through Dean’s shirt. He bites a little at Jensen’s neck and kisses his cheek chastely before just holding him.
Jensen tangles their fingers together and places their hands over his heart before drifting off to sleep. Jared follows right behind him, knowing Jensen is better and right where he’s supposed to be, in Jared’s arms.
